The Tree of Life is an important symbol in nearly every culture. The Celts and Druids held trees to be very sacred, especially the Oak. The Oak represented the World Tree with branches reaching high into the sky and roots reaching deep into the earth. It was considered a tree that tied heaven, earth and the underworld together, connecting all things above and below.
